The Samkhyakarika of Isvarakrsna is generally viewed as system which elucidates importance of rational knowledge in accomplishing liberation. The subject matter of this knowledge is also shown to be a unique thing, viz the discriminative knowledge of purusa and prakiti. Knowledge occurs through ascertainment by intellect, assisted by the self-awareness of egoity, the explication of the mind and the functioning of the various sense and action capacities.
