This paper is an attempt to highlight and read the implicit concept of mission in a synchronic reading of the book of Deuteronomy. It is true that when we search for any direct proof of Israelite's "evangelization or mission" in the Old Testament, we may end up without very clear evidence. However, the Old Testament is not devoid of the missionary zeal. To understand the missionary orientation in the Old Testament, we need to see whether it teaches the universal salvific will of God.
