By: Material type: ArticleArticlePublication details: Bangalore; United Theological College, Apr.2020Description: Pages, 82-89Subject(s):
Contents:
Reflection on a passage from the Bible, John 8:1-11. By focusing on the significance of silence in the text- both the silence of the woman caught in adultery and that of Jesus, with a closer look at the latter- I shall give some proposals for men to envision silence as a self-reflective space that would make them allies in th struggle for women's liberation. This essay is therefore written particularly for men with the objective of stressing their responsibility to recognize their inherited male privilege and check their internalized toxic masculinity
