The genesis of this process was a result of various factors including economic, social, cultural, political, geographical etc. The paper concentrates on the historical antecedents of Iddukki Migration. It makes an in-depth study on the various factors that forced people to move to the high ranges for a better life. A systematic approach to the process of migration, discussion on the geographical location and the political situation of the geographical location are included in the paper which makes the analysis more comprehensible.
