This study relies on publicly generated data on violent conflicts and instability in Ethiopia. The first section of this essay will analyze various factors of recent civil war and intercommunal tension in Ethiopia. The Second part will examine the role of religion and the state religion relationship relatd to violence. the third section will argue that ethnicization is the main contributing faction to intercommunal violence. Finally, the last part will discuss the interfaith role in engaging dialogue and building lasting peace among diverse societies.
