Managing is very much like juggling. Like a juggler needs to have the first hand feel of the balls, a manger needs to get hands-on with managing tasks, people and situations. Like the juggler takes a calculated ristk in judging the number of balls he can float at the same time, the manager needs to assess how many tasks and roles he has and can effetively handle at the same time. Like the juggler develops and intitutive sense of timing to keep the balls afloat in a way that he can catch only two of them at a time, the manager needs to know and prioritize on the balls and not on the hands, the manager needs to concentrate on the performance and not on the processes. And finally like the juggler, the manager must also have the wisdom to know that it is only with practice that he will be able to master the art.
