This article discusses the pre-Christian Naga concepts of the world. God and Spirits and of "Land of the Dead" and certain landscapes pertaining to the concepts of life after death. More importantly, it looks at the significance and phenomenology of such landscapes vis-a-vis the pre- Christian Naga concepts of the "Land of the Dead" . Moreover, it also throws light on the survival of such pre-Christian elements/beliefs in the present Christianized Naga society. This article also is an attempt at understanding and historicizing the past of the Naga Community focusing on ta few extant landscapes in their territory to give a comprehensive picture of the pre-Christian Naga Beeliefs and practices.
