This book is a record of the proceedings of the Second Foreign Policy Dialogue between the Public Diplomacy Division of India`s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the leading international think tank, International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), London, held at New Delhi in December 2007. The book dwells on the myriad security-related challenges that confront the global community and how these might influence the strategic shape of the world, the forging of new alliances and the strategic choices that the international community and nation states would face. The MEA-IISS dialogue focused on three areas: the strategic shape of the world, international terrorism and energy security, and discussed the possible ways in which these could be addressed nationally, regionally and globally.
