The rest of the world was taken aback on March 13, 2013, when Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio was elected as Pope. Not only is he the first Pope to come from outside of Europe in a significant amount of time, but he is also a member of the Jesuit order. Pope Francis has never been a person of words; rather, he has always been a man of action. He is of the belief that problems should not be sidestepped but rather confronted head-on in order to find solutions. He is courageous enough to take part in actions that could put his life in danger and to initiate constructive change for the sake of maintaining international harmony. It is because of his work that the teachings of the Second Vatican Council have been put into practice. In addition to this he had a unique love for Christ, and this love reflected in both his actions and his teaching. This article reflects on his Actions based on his teachings.
