What is Indian Church? What are some of its unique features and possible contributions? What is the significance of the Church for an Indian Church? How far has this search contributed to the betterment of both the Church and the countyr? These are some of the questions we ask ourselves in this book, which is fondly dedicated to Kurien Kunnupuram SJ, who contributed significantly to the unfolding of Indian theological thinking. This book concerns itself with some relevant theological issues that deal with the emergence of an Indian Church. We also look for a theology that is relevant to both contemporary India and the Church in India. The first section, Towatds Together, emphasises the quest for an Indian Church, while the second part, Beyond Borders, deals with the forward nature of India and the Church. The next part discusses some Crucial Concerns faced by the Indian Church. The concluding section looks at the specific theological vision of Professor Kunnupuram towards evolving a Church that is deeply rooted in Christian heritage and indian wisdom.
